Since 2012, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the ServiceNow platform, starting as a Technical Analyst with the University of Birmingham IT Service Desk and eventually becoming the Technical Specialist. Over the years, my role has evolved significantly, leading to numerous exciting developments and opportunities to make a meaningful impact.
In 2019, I took my first steps into developing for ServiceNow with the launch of our IT Service Portal. This project provided a more user-friendly interface for our employees, enhancing their overall experience, and was very well received by both our users and colleagues inside IT Services.
The next major phase of my journey came in 2021 when I joined the newly formed Continual Improvement team with IT Service Management. This move allowed me to expand my development skills across all areas of the ServiceNow platform. My primary focus has been on Service Portal, Knowledge Management, Service Catalogue, and Flows. Each of these areas offers unique challenges and opportunities to innovate and improve the way we work.
In my current role, I spend most of my time developing solutions that enhance the experience for both our users and my colleagues in Service Management. By leveraging the capabilities of ServiceNow, I’ve been able to implement changes that streamline processes, increase efficiency, and provide better service to our end users. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact of these developments on our team’s productivity and overall satisfaction.
Today, I’m excited to announce the start of a new blog where I will share some of the cool things I’ve developed over the past few years. Through this platform, I hope to provide insights, tips, and inspiration for others working with ServiceNow or interested in learning more about it.
I would like to extend a special thanks to Jerry Wong, our ServiceNow product owner, for his support and encouragement in the short time he’s been working with the University.
Stay tuned for future posts where I’ll dive into specific projects and share some ideas. Thank you for joining me on this exciting journey!
